Full Stack Software Engineer
Build software that solves complex, real-world engineering challenges.
This is a full stack engineering role spanning front-end and back-end development, cloud infrastructure, and API design. You'll build scalable, secure, and well-tested software that supports high-performance, business-critical applications.
If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working across the entire technology stack, and collaborating with talented engineers, this could be the opportunity you're looking for.
The Role
- Write clean, readable, efficient, and maintainable code across front-end and back-end applications.
- Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using modern frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Build scalable and maintainable backend services using technologies such as Golang, Ruby on Rails, or Django.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, well-documented APIs that integrate applications, services, and third-party systems.
- Design and optimise SQL and NoSQL database schemas while ensuring performance, security, and data integrity.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage cloud-based applications using AWS or GCP, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes.
- Contribute across the entire software development lifecycle including planning, estimation, design, development, testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to support reliable software releases.
- Optimise application performance, scalability, and maintainability while reducing technical debt.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 7 years of commercial experience in full stack software development with strong UX awareness.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design practical, scalable software solutions.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Experience developing backend services using Golang, Ruby on Rails, Django, or similar technologies.
- Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience designing and building secure, scalable APIs.
- Familiarity with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to writing high-quality, maintainable, and secure software.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality engineering outcomes.
- A curiosity for learning new technologies and continuously improving engineering practices.
Why This Role
You'll join an experienced engineering team building sophisticated software used in demanding, real-world environments. You'll work across the full technology stack, contribute to architecture and product direction, and have the opportunity to solve technically interesting problems using modern tools and technologies.
Reality Check
This role is suited to engineers who enjoy solving difficult technical problems and taking ownership of their work. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve, so adaptability, strong engineering fundamentals, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
Why Join?
- Work on technically challenging software with real-world impact.
- Modern technology stack across frontend, backend, cloud, and DevOps.
- Influence product direction and technical architecture.
- Collaborate with highly capable engineers in a supportive environment.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams with direct access to decision-makers.
- Open and collaborative office culture where ideas are encouraged.
- Free lunch, snacks, and drinks provided.
- Permanent full-time position based in Melbourne.
