Electronics Engineer - 6-Month Contract

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electronics Engineer to work alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team, taking ownership of PCB design, hardware development, testing, and product validation on a cutting-edge project.
About the Role
This is a 6-month contract suited to an Electronics Engineer who enjoys designing, building and solving complex hardware challenges from concept through to verification.
You'll be responsible for developing high-quality electronic hardware while collaborating closely with embedded software, mechanical and systems engineers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and develop PCBAs using Altium Designer
- Complete schematic capture and PCB layout
- Design digital, mixed-signal and power electronics circuits
- Perform board bring-up, debugging and hardware verification
- Support prototype development, testing and design improvements
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams
- Produce high-quality technical documentation
Skills & Experience
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Electronic Engineering or related degree
- Commercial experience designing PCBAs
- Strong Altium Designer experience
- Schematic capture and PCB layout
- Digital electronics and microcontroller-based systems
- Interfaces including SPI, I²C, UART, USB, CAN and Ethernet
- Hardware debugging using laboratory equipment
- Understanding of signal integrity, EMC and power electronics
Highly regarded:
- Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, defence, aerospace, automotive or industrial products
- Embedded firmware exposure (Bare Metal, RTOS or Embedded Linux)
- EMC, RF or analogue electronics experience
- A personal electronics workshop, home lab, or access to test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, bench power supply, soldering station, logic analyser) with a passion for building and experimenting outside of work.
