Cloud Security Engineer
Job Location: Melbourne, Victoria
Not every cloud security role gives you ownership.
This one does.
You'll take the lead on securing the AWS platform behind autonomous mobility technology, shaping everything from cloud architecture and DevSecOps to application security. If you're the type of engineer who wants to influence how security is built, not just audit it afterwards, this is the opportunity to make a real impact.
You'll be securing our AWS cloud infrastructure and embedding application security practices across our engineering teams. This role owns our AWS security stack and drives DevSecOps and application security practices. You'll support secure integration between cloud services and edge-based autonomous systems. If you're a highly skilled and proactive engineer who can balance technical depth with practical execution, this might be the role for you.
The Role
* Design, implement, and maintain security guardrails, policies, and compliance controls across multi-account AWS environments.
* Own and mature our AWS security stack, including Identity Center, Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF, Cognito, IAM, and SCPs.
* Conduct security assessments, threat modelling, and vulnerability analysis across cloud and application environments.
* Partner with software engineering teams to embed application security practices into the SDLC, including secure code review and remediation guidance.
* Support secure AWS IoT Core integration for edge device communication and data flows.
* Review and contribute to network security architecture (VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Route53) to ensure secure connectivity.
* Implement security controls as code using CloudFormation and/or SAM.
What You Bring
* Experience with AWS security services, including Identity Center, Security Hub, and IAM.
* Knowledge of cloud security architecture and compliance controls.
* Ability to conduct security assessments, threat modelling, and vulnerability analysis.
* Experience with DevSecOps and application security practices.
* Strong understanding of network security architecture, including VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, and Route53.
* Familiarity with CloudFormation and/or SAM.
* Ability to partner with software engineering teams and embed application security practices into the SDLC. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Why This Role
This role is critical to protecting our mission-critical mobility solutions. You'll have the opportunity to own our AWS security stack and drive DevSecOps and application security practices. You'll work closely with software engineering teams to embed application security practices into the SDLC.
