Open Position

Embedded Hardware & Firmware Engineer | BLE / IoT

Job Location: Austin, TX

Austin, Texas | Onsite | Up to $250K USD + Relocation

We're recruiting for a privately backed US technology company developing advanced wireless sensor systems for demanding industrial environments.

These are real products operating in harsh conditions, where battery life, wireless reliability and accurate sensor data matter.

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys working across both hardware and firmware. Someone who can design a PCB, write embedded C/C++, bring up a board and debug the inevitable problems along the way.

The company is growing, with existing products to improve and several new designs in development.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing electronic circuits and multilayer PCBs using Altium.

  • Developing embedded firmware in C/C++ for ARM Cortex-M platforms.

  • Integrating BLE into low-power wireless sensor products.

  • Working with accelerometers, vibration sensors and signal acquisition.

  • Board bring-up, debugging, testing and hardware validation.

  • Taking designs from prototype through to manufacturing.

  • Solving RF, power management, signal integrity and EMC/EMI challenges.

What we're looking for

Ideally, you've developed complete embedded products, not just firmware for someone else's hardware.

Experience with BLE, PCB design, embedded C/C++ and low-power electronics is particularly relevant.

Nordic nRF52, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, LoRaWAN and vibration analysis experience would be useful, but you don't need everything.

We're open to different experience levels. What matters is your engineering capability and what you've actually built.

Why consider it?

You'll have genuine technical ownership, interesting engineering problems and the opportunity to influence future products.

Compensation is flexible, potentially reaching $250,000 USD base for an exceptional candidate.

This is a full-time onsite position in Austin, Texas. Relocation may be considered for strong candidates. Applicants must meet the employer's US work authorisation requirements.

Interested?

I'm an embedded engineer turned recruiter. I'd be interested in hearing about the products you've designed, the problems you've solved and the engineering you've personally owned.

Apply with your CV. GitHub profiles or hardware portfolios are welcome.
