Electrical Engineer

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical designs and ensuring compliance with Powercor requirements and Victorian electrical standards. You will be responsible for both design development and quality assurance activities, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

This role is ideal for an engineer who understands the intricacies of Powercor projects and can confidently review, validate, and improve electrical designs before submission and construction.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and deliver Powercor-compliant electrical designs for distribution network projects
  • Conduct detailed quality assurance (QA) reviews of electrical designs and documentation
  • Ensure all designs comply with Powercor requirements, Victorian standards, and industry regulations
  • Review design packages for technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams, clients, and external stakeholders throughout project delivery
  • Perform electrical calculations and technical assessments to support design decisions
  • Identify design risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support project delivery by ensuring design milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers where required
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and utility stakeholders

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering and Victorian utility projects
  • Demonstrated experience preparing Powercor designs
  • Strong experience conducting QA reviews and ensuring design compliance
  • Solid understanding of Victorian electrical distribution standards and requirements
  • Experience with underground and overhead electrical distribution networks
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and other relevant design software
  • Strong problem-solving and technical review skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence
