Join a team at the forefront of Autonomous Driving System integration. This group focuses on transforming core autonomous technology into complete customer solutions by integrating Autonomous Driving Systems into real-world vehicle applications.
As the Lead Integration Engineer, you'll combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership. You'll lead the integration function, mentor engineers, drive technical direction, and work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver robust, production-ready autonomous vehicle solutions.
The Role
As the Lead Integration Engineer, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of Integration Engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and day-to-day support
- Drive the planning, prioritisation, and execution of Autonomous Driving System integration activities
- Develop a deep understanding of Autonomous Driving Systems and their integration into vehicle applications
- Lead the in-house integration of partner Autonomous Driving Systems into company products
- Maintain and enhance the base Autonomous Driving System used for validation and verification of core technology
- Assess customer Operational Domains against the company's Operational Design Domains
- Develop high-quality, reliable software solutions to achieve integration objectives
- Test, validate, debug, and document software components relating to AD integration
- Work closely with Systems Engineering on functional requirements, architecture, and system design
- Collaborate with software, systems, validation, and customer-facing teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Promote engineering best practices, code quality, documentation standards, and continuous improvement across the team
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams within a technical software environment
- Strong ability to develop ideas into practical engineering solutions
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally within autonomous systems, robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other complex embedded environments
- Strong proficiency in C/C++
- Experience with Linux development environments
- Experience with simulation and plant model creation
- Experience analysing engineering and vehicle data
- Experience using Git or other version control systems
- Passion for emerging technologies including AI and autonomous systems
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, robotics, or advanced mobility industries is highly regarded
- Familiarity with Python, communication protocols, and ROS/ROS2 is advantageous

Reality Check
This is a hands-on leadership role.
You'll spend time both leading engineers and actively contributing to software integration and technical problem solving. Priorities can change as customer requirements evolve, so you'll need to be adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines.
Domestic and international travel may be required to support customer integration, testing, and deployment activities.
