Embedded Programming Languages and Re-usable code 2013

According to UBM C is the prominent programming language used in embedded systems at 60% in 2013 a slight reduction over 65% in 2012. C++ comes in second at 21%. It seems C++ is slowly increasing it’s penetration as systems become more and more sophisticated and clock cycles and bits become cheaper.

What do you think?

It seems re-usability of code has not changed much with most reused code being homegrown. It seems the industry is posed for a major disruption here opportunities exist for vendors to provide off the shelf embedded libraries as the end to shorten production cycles continues to competitive advantage.
